How did you get started?
One day I had a particularly bad day; students were unprepared and completely unapologetic. So I went home to zombie out in front of the TV, and the first story I saw was about how the African elephant was projected to be extinct by 2026 due to poaching. And I thought, unbelievable, didn’t we fix this once already? Really, this is who we are as a species?! I was utterly dejected and then immediately livid! I was reminded of the quote from Neil Simon's Biloxi Blues where Arnold Epstein says,
“You're a witness. You're always standing around watching what's happening, scribbling in your book what other people do. You have to get in the middle of it. You have to take sides. Make a contribution to the fight. Any fight. The one you believe in.”

Special thanks to the Kirkpatrick Foundation who made all of this possible!
And here’s our most recent presentation from the CBDNA Conference (College Band Directors National Association), just in case you missed us!
And here’s a part of our performance at the OKC Zoo as part of The Animal Conference. Rex, the elephant, sure liked it!
